What is the overall objective/purpose of CNC Operator position?
Operates computer numerical controlled machines (CNC) according to work instructions to produce plastic component parts.
Duties and Responsibilities of CNC Operator:
- Set up machine to perform the required function
- Follow the work instructions for completing the required job function to determine methods and sequence of operations and dimensional and finish specifications
- Loads and unloads material from machine
- Inspect pieces throughout the production run
- Performs deburring, sanding, grinding or similar operations as necessary, according to the work instructions, to ensure parts meet the required standards
- Cuts material to size using shears, knives, cutters, scissors, router or bandsaw
- Trims, drills, reams, countersinks, grinds and finishes parts to specifications, using the appropriate tools
- Completes required quality production paperwork according to company work rules
- Reports accurate production numbers using the ERP computer system
- Keeps work area neat and organized
- Follow all clean up and housekeeping procedures
- Comply with all quality, safety and work rules and regulations
- Other duties may be assigned as necessary
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic skills in reading, writing, and arithmetic are necessary
- Ability to follow detailed work instructions
- Basic computer understanding
- Knowledge of machinery
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma
- Previous machine operations experience preferred
